He is very reluctant for us to share this, but it's wonderful news! Today at the Partnership office, we received the following press release from the Lutheran Education Association.

LEA 2016 Christus Magister

Mark Muehl was selected by LEA’s board of directors to receive LEA’s top honor, the Christus Magister award. Since 1965, this most prestigious Lutheran Education Association award has been presented to Lutheran educators who have made significant contributions to Lutheran education.

Mark is executive director of The Lutheran Schools Partnership in Fort Wayne, Ind. Previous service includes principal and teacher in schools in Indiana and Illinois. He also has led large VBS programs, seniors’ ministry, Bible studies, and adult day care. Mark is president of the Indiana Non-Public School Association and serves on the Board of Regents at Concordia University Chicago.

Mr. Muehl earned a B.A. in education, specializing in religion and mathematics from Concordia University Chicago and B.A. as a Director of Christian Education, also from Concordia University Chicago

In support of his nomination, one colleague said, “You will not find a more dedicated servant leader; Mark advocates for the unique needs of educators and administration, has ‘been in the trenches.’ As the first and current executive director of The Lutheran Schools Partnership, Mark works directly with the school administrators, lay leadership, and pastoral staff to bring…18 vastly different schools together to create the opportunity for collaboration and support.”
